To the committed Christian, redemption means to give up the bondage of sin for a new freedom in Christ, which is so beautiful that it is difficult to articulate, even for the most ardent believer. Dictionary.com defines redemption as the action of regaining or gaining possession of something in exchange for payment or clearing a debt. Merriam-Webster says that redemption is the act of making something better or more acceptance. At some point in our lives, we will find ourselves in need of redemption. There will come a time when an action, word, deed, or perhaps even a thought, will necessitate restoration. Kelley Wooden Stanley helps the reader realize that redemption begins in the heart and soul and expands to the spiritual level. Through her storytelling and her prolific poetry, we learn that redemption is deeply personal and that one must first seek the liberation of her own soul before she can truly forgive another.

Wooden-Stanley, Kelley: - Kelley Wooden-Stanley is the youngest of six children born to late Joseph and Marion Wooden of Columbus Ohio. She attended and graduated from East High School in 1989 where she met her current husband of 27 years.Kenneth and Kelley have three beautiful children and four grandchildren. She began to further her education at Columbus State Community College then later would attend Capella University with a projected completion date in fall of 2018 with a Bachelor's Degree in public safety specializing in Criminal Justice. Kelley and her family moved to Cincinnati Ohio in 1996 and is currently employed at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. With a fervent desire to reside closer to family and reunite with Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, her immediate family returned to Columbus Ohio in 2016. Her love of writing poetry ceased for over twenty years from personal turmoil and tragedy, but would later resurface and result in a stronger and spiritual level of writing.
