About the AuthorGecko Keck (real name: Gerhard Wörner; born November 1967 in Stuttgart, Germany) is a German artist, designer and author. Among other things, he was involved in the toy development of the FERRERO Kinder Surprise eggs.
After graduating from high school in 1987, Keck worked as a freelance illustrator and charicaturist for various newspapers. From 1989 he had a permanent position at Motor Presse Verlag Stuttgart as a graphic designer, illustrator and comic artist. During this time he developed his own magazine concepts and took part in various exhibitions in the Stuttgart area. In 1993 he again took the step into self-employment and he worked as a freelance artist and designer.
In 1996, Keck began designing surprise egg toys for the Italian confectionery manufacturer FERRERO, making a total of over 5,000 drawings and 300 models. By 2004, he created approximately 40% percent of the content, of which there are an estimated 8 billion copies worldwide. He also developed products for well-known licensed themes such as "SpongeBob", "Hello Kitty", "Asterix", "Lord of the Rings", "Peanuts", "The Smurfs" etc.
In 1993 Gecko Keck began working as a toy developer for Schleich GmbH., for which he also helped to develop the conception of the "Bayala World", including the work "Bayala - the Daughters of the Elf King". In 1996, Keck's own art gallery opened with paintings and sculptures.
In 2005 he founded the Kieselsteiner publishing company. Since 2004 he has been designing products for Nestlé, Milka and developing confectionery products for wholesalers in Europe, Australia and the USA.
Gecko Keck has published around 90 books since 2007, including bestsellers that have been published worldwide. The bestsellers include books such as
