Messages of Hope is a devotional book of prose poetry and short stories. Within these pages are conversations crystalized between a broken man and his Creator. They were the honest conversations that Jonathon started having with God around the times he was homeless - going in and out of therapy due eventually, after surviving many attempts at taking his own life. These are the prayers of a man who intimately understands hopelessness. Part one of this series is the first message that Jonathon received from God: hope, not the kind that is for specific people, but the kind of hope that is for everyone. He wasn't your conventional Christian before he wrote this book. Now, he's even less and far removed from what he himself always pictured to be a Christian role model. As Jonathon got closer to God, he realized what is needed for one to truly heal from what is, sometimes, life's cruel unfairness.
Messages of Hope is the first book of a series of devotions and short stories written in Jonathon McClellan's own prose poetry style. It is a book filled with honest conversations between the worst version of himself and God. When Jonathon was at his lowest, struggling with grief, loss, and mental illness, he embarked on a journey of vulnerability. This vulnerability allowed him to come as he was before God - broken. As God began drawing near to Jonathon, and as Jonathon drew near to Him, he began receiving many messages that healed the shattered pieces of his broken heart.
