About the Author
Gail Lumet Buckley is the daughter of Lena Horne, and was married to the director, Sidney Lumet. In 1986 she published a chronicle of her family's history along with the story of the black middle class in America. Shes is the author of American Patriots and The Black Calhouns.

Charles Frank Bolden, Jr. was the 12th Administrator of NASA, a retired United States Marine Corps Major General, and former NASA astronaut. He was the first African American to head the agency on a permanent basis. Bolden is also the virtual host of the Shuttle Launch Experience attraction at Kennedy Space Center.
