About the Author
Chapman, Betty Trapp: - Betty Trapp Chapman, a native of Tupelo, Mississippi, received her B.A. degree from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. She has spent the past 25 years researching, teaching, and writing about the history of Houston. Betty writes a weekly column, "Houston Heritage," for the Houston Business Journal and is the author of several books on Houston's history. A frequent lecturer in Rice University's Continuing Studies Program, she has also served as a consultant for a variety of historical projects in the city. She is currently the chairperson of the Houston Archaeological and Historical Commission.
