About the Author

Dr. Kevin Langford is the chairman of the Texas Association of Advisors of the Health Professions and an associate professor in the biology department of Stephen F. Austin State University. He has taught a variety of courses, including human biology, comparative anatomy, human physiology, histology, and developmental biology. His research into the cellular and molecular aspects of cardiac development have won research awards from both the American Heart Association and the National Institutes of Health.
