Die Publikation widmet sich den Beziehungen zwischen Restaurierung und Politik in der Kunst der italienischen Renaissance. Die Frage nach der Herkunft als Grundlage politischer, patrimonialer und kultureller Identit?t bildet den Fokus der Betrachtungen. Anstatt urspr?ngliche Formen und Bedeutungen wiederherzustellen, wurde die Vergangenheit entsprechend neuen Identit?tsbed?rfnissen umgestaltet: R?ume wurden umorganisiert und Kunstwerke mit neuen Bedeutungen versehen. Die materielle und ?sthetische Realit?t der Kunstgegenst?nde erfuhr somit eine Umgestaltung und Neudefinition. Ziel der Beitr?ge ist es, m?gliche physische Ver?nderungen der Artefakte im Lichte ihrer symbolischen Umkodierung zu analysieren.

His current research is devoted to issues of iconoclasm and restoration in Renaissance Italy.
